City Codes

The Municipal Code and the Unified Development Code.

The Municipal Code and the Unified Development Code, searchable by section. Illustrative: the Clerk confirms the “current through” ordinance at launch

Design note: In this concept, one chapter is converted, so search covers Chapter II. In the new site it covers every section of both codes. The conversion is automated, then checked word for word against the City's PDFs, then signed off by the Clerk.

Municipal Code

  1. Chapter I. Administration PDF
  2. Chapter II. Animals In the library
  3. Chapter III. Beverages PDF
  4. Chapter IV. Buildings and Construction PDF
  5. Chapter V. Business Regulations PDF
  6. Chapter VI. Elections PDF
  7. Chapter VII. Reserved for Future Use PDF
  8. Chapter VIII. Health and Welfare PDF
  9. Chapter IX. Municipal Court PDF
  10. Chapter X. Police PDF

  16. Chapter XVI. Zoning and Planning PDF
Design note: Today the code is about 24 separate PDFs, each with its own date in the file name, from Elections 2012 to Revised Chapter IV, 12.12.2024. Nobody can tell from the page which version is current or search across chapters. The chapters still shown as PDF here are exactly as the City publishes them today; in the new site every one becomes sections like Chapter II.

Unified Development Code

  1. Article 1 PDF
  2. Article 2 PDF
  3. Article 3 PDF
  4. Article 4 PDF
  5. Article 5 PDF
  6. Article 6 PDF

Model codes adopted by reference, such as the Standard Traffic Ordinance (2025) PDF and the Uniform Public Offense Code (2025) PDF, stay as linked documents.

How the code stays current

  1. The Governing Body adopts an ordinance.
  2. The Clerk opens the affected sections and edits them, or uploads the revised chapter, and records the ordinance number and date.
  3. An approver reviews and publishes. The section's history updates itself, and every earlier version is kept.
